Alternate Commissioner

Commissioner Tormey is a New Jersey attorney. Her first career position was with the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority as Deputy House Counsel. Commissioner Tormey then worked in private practice with a Bergen County law firm. She left the practice of law to fulfill her duty as full time family caregiver. Commissioner Tormey has since dabbled in law and is seeking a new career within the legal field. She is an active member of the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) Alumni Interview Program. Commissioner Tormey is presently Fulfillment Lead at Macy's, Ocean County.

Commissioner Tormey is an avid sports fan and participated in athletics most of her life, serving as Captain of the UPenn Women's Basketball Team. She graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1987 with a Juris Doctorate, and UPenn in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Commissioner Tormey was born in New York City, and then grew up in Weehawken and Wood- Ridge, respectively. She moved to the Township of Brick in 2016 with her husband, Michael, and her daughter, Shannon Rose.
